What are PDO threads?
PDO (polydioxanone) threads are a minimally invasive technique that repositions and supports facial tissue. They are placed under the skin with micro cannulas to tighten, lift and stimulate collagen in specific areas, with no cuts.
The lifting effect shows from the treatment and keeps improving as collagen grows: firmness, elasticity and texture get better over the following days, and results last 1 to 1.5 years.
How does the treatment work?
It starts with a medical consultation: the doctor assesses the degree of sagging and the areas that need lifting, and designs a plan for your facial structure and the result you want.
Under local anaesthetic the threads are placed with a cannula or a fine needle along the lifting vectors. The session takes 30 to 60 minutes and you go home the same day.
Afterwards there may be mild swelling or a temporary feeling of tightness. Avoid sudden movements, intense exercise and facial massages for the first 5 days.

When a physician places them, side effects are usually mild and temporary, but they are not for everyone.
